Humongus Book Sale this Weekend!

Hi, everyone. Just want to let you all know that we will be doing our final sale of the season this weekend. The sale will run both Saturday and Sunday from 8-3. There will be deals galore on the awesome books we have. This will be our final “all out” sale. Our plan is to sell everything, ha, ha. But we do intend to empty out the shelves in the Community Room to make way for storage of circulation materials. We desperately need the space. Our patron collection is growing. So drop by and check out our deals. Bring a friend. And, as an added thought, we are drafting a new donation policy so we can accept items that can be added to our collection or that will  sell more quickly. On that note, a big thank you to those of you who have helped make our “free” pile disappear.  As I mentioned previously, after this sale we will donate some leftovers to Goodwill, or sell to dealers, or run through an auction. We will keep the titles that will easily sell and will fit into the back room shelving area.

The Saturday Super Foods program kicked off last Saturday. It is scheduled for every Saturday from 11-12, except the weekend of the Common Ground Fair. Sample fun food, bring your questions, learn about just what grows in your backyard and is edible, check out the raw food recipes, etc. And remember that this program is for all ages. Children are welcomed.

I wish we could get to your sale….

I am looking for any information about the builders of Liberty boats back in the 1950s.
My father had a beautiful Liberty boat.

My understanding is that they were first built in Liberty Maine then the building was moved to Palermo.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much for any information you may have!

Paul. I suggest you speak with the Liberty Historical Society at 589-4730. This should connect you with the gentleman who owns FRAPOLI’S PLACE, and antique store in “downtown” Liberty. He is also the head of the Historical Society. You might also check with KENWAY BOATS, now out of Augusta but was started in Palermo in the early 1950″s. Their number is 623-8292. Good luck.

Thanks so much for the information and help! Hope your book sale was successful. I hate to miss a book sale, but it is hard to be in several places at once!
